It is a dangerous situation when a roofing company hires subcontractors. Why? Because roofing subcontractors are paid for the quantity of work they perform instead of the quality of work they perform. This almost always results in sub-quality workmanship because the subcontractors are motivated to get the job done quickly rather than properly.

Roofing contractors employ subcontractors because it makes their life easier, but it drastically reduces the easiness for you (the home owner and purchaser of roofing services) because roofing companies that hire subcontractors have no real idea who these subcontractors are, where they really come from, or whether they will be around six months later to fix their bad workmanship. 

It is generally not a good idea to hire a roofing company that subcontracts out their work.
